"Up in the air"

Yes, yes, you are not mistaken, its the recent movie starring George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick and Jason Bateman I am talking about (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1193138/). With a bit of drama, comedy and romance, the movie tells a story of this one man (George Clooney) traveling pretty much all over America to do his job, which is about firing people- Clooney stars as a corporate downsizing expert.

Though pretty tough looking while doing his job, George's character, whose name is Ryan Bingham turns out to be a man who can also fall in love (later in the movie we learn that outside of his job he gives a series of speeches about letting everything in your life and that includes your closest family members go and set yourself free of all the drama, pain, and the rest of unpleasant swirl of emotions and hardships that come in this package), care, and make others feel useful and helpful.

For those who haven't seen the movie yet, I wont get into further details- don't want to spoil the moment :)

The movie got 90% on rotten tomatoes- a movie barometer you should def check every time you decide on seeing a new movie.

Director of the movie, Jason Reitman (Juno and Thank you for smoking) does it again- smart, witty, funny and at times actually tragic- "Up in the air" is a must to see.

I have a bad habit when it comes to movies and music. When I listen to a music piece, I tend to very much associate myself with the song- either lose myself in lyrics of the piece or simply feel the melody. And when it comes to movies, well, I hope its not just me (because I don't want people to think that I am a total freak :) I associate myself with characters (and it doesn't have to be always the lead one either). Good or bad, funny or sad, it doesn't matter- there is always something that I tend to take with me. While watching this movie I thought of my life- the amount of time I spent with my family and friends, how much time I spent on my work, traveling and etc.

One of my favorite quotes from the movie is when Clooney, at the very beginning introduces his character. He says "to know me is to fly with me, this is where I live". I thought of my frequent traveling, the people I meet on the plane, the conversations we have, and really, one does get to know the person- no matter how long the flight is, one always gets something from the person he/she talking to while on the plane. And that is one of the best things about traveling. Or at least it is to me (which doesn't mean that you can't simply put your i-pod on and read your book). Also you don't necessarily need to start talking to the person to learn something about him- just look at the way he enters the plane, folds his/her jacket, the magazine or the book they read, the way they eat and etc...

I don't know, maybe it is just me, but movies like that, remind me of moments in my life, that sometimes I tend to forget or overlook or simply not think about at all.

Anyway, enough with all the emotions and back to the movie, its GREAT and you should WATCH it :)
