"And all that jazzzzzzzzz..."

At last, Baku is to host its next jazz festival. A tradition that began in 2002 continues and this year's list of performers is rich and jazzy :) And no, you wont have to "rouge your knees" or "roll your stockings down" for this, instead, you would probably need to "start the car" and head to "just a noisy hall" with your hair slick and buckle shoes to all that jazz  :)

A Facebook page and the official website [RUS, english version is under construction] for the festival tells the history of the event with a list of performers, sponsors and the program itself. According to the info section of the website, ever since the festival was launched a number of prominent jazz performers attended the event. Among these were Aziza Mustafazade, Billy Cobham, Al Jarreua, Herbi Hancock Quartet, Toots Thielemans, Greg Osby, Richard Bona and many more.

This year's list of performers is no less impressive. Lasting for 15 days in total (the opening is on October 16th), the festival will attract names and bands as Matt Bianco, Shakatak, Monty Alexander, Keiko Matsui, L'Image, Jazzamor, Diana Reeves and also a number of others. In addition, some of the talented Azerbaijani jazz stars as Isfar Sarabski and Cemil Emirov will warm the hearts and minds of their guests.

The festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Republic in cooperation with the Fund of Culture of Azerbaijan (couldn't find the website strangely) and Sweet Production [RUS] company.

Enjoy whoever will get the chance to attend any of the concerts. Oh, and I was also told that, it wont be a first if some of the performers will "cancel" the last minute. So be careful when you buy your tickets...
